Read The Sentence

Read the SentenceAre you sure? Did you say "A BIRD IN THE BUSH" instead of "A BIRD IN THE THE BUSH". Most people make the same mistake. When you read a sentence, you tend to focus only on the meaning of the sentence. Words like "THE" may be skipped since they are not critical to the meaning of the whole sentence. It is a simple but great trick.

Read Out The COLOUR but Not The Words

Look at the words, from left to right, read out the COLOUR but not the words e.g. you should read GREEN instead of YELLOW fot the first word.

Difficult, isn't it? This is caused by left-right brain conflict. The brain is divided into two sides. They control different modes of thinking. The right brain is more intuitive, holistic and synthesising so it is more responsible for perceiving colours, graphics, etc. The left brain is more logical, sequential and analytical. It is more responsible for perceiving words and meanings. When you are reading the words, you right brain tries to say the colour, however you left brain insists on reading the words and this conflict causes the confusion in perception.

Flashing Black

Look at the picture
~~
Do you see the white circle at the intersections flashing black?
Science do not understand exactuly how this happens. They tend to believe that there is a special mechanism in our eyes for seeing edges. When perceiving the edges, our light receptors will switch off their neighbouring reflectors, making the edges of the perceived object more pronounced. Everything in the periphery will be summed up more coarsely. In the case of the illusion, the circle at the intersection is discoloured by the brian. The brain tries to fill the white spot with black shades.
